MATH 1030 - Introduction to Quantitative Reasoning

Enrollment Requirement: Prerequisites: Completion of MATH I, II, III with an average grade of C or better OR ACT MATH Score ≥ 23 OR Accuplacer CLM ≥ 50
Requirement Designation: Quantiative Reasoning (Math)
Components: Lecture

Covers a broad scope of mathematical topics as they apply to real-world problems. Topics include reasoning and number sense, using percents and estimations, math for finance matters such as loans and investments, probability and statistics, and modeling. MATH 1030 may be the last math class you take in college.

Appropriate for study in: English/Languages, Fine Arts, Humanities and Performing Arts.

MATH 1040 - Introduction to Statistics and Probability

Enrollment Requirement: Prerequisites: Completion of MATH I, II, & III with an average grade of C or better OR C or better in MATH 1030 or MATH 1050 OR ACT MATH Score ≥ 23 OR Accuplacer CLM ≥ 60
Requirement Designation: Quantiative Reasoning (Statistics/Logic)
Components: Lecture

Includes descriptive and inferential statistical methods. Topics include sampling design, descriptive statistics, linear regression and correlation, probability, sampling distributions, and hypothesis testing and confidence intervals. MATH 1040 may be the last math class you take in college.

Appropriate for study in:  History, Nursing, Psychology, Social Sciences.
